Secret Spaces Youth Writing Prize

Everyone has a secret space. Whether it’s your room, the quiet spot in the park or that spot on the street where something important happened. Perhaps your secret space isn’t a place at all?

Hunter Writers Centre’s Youth Writing Prize calls for people aged 16-35 living in the Hunter to write a piece on the theme ‘Secret Spaces.’

It can be a short story, micro-fiction, poetry, script or any other word-based form but we don’t wanna read it. We wanna see it.

Entries for Secret Spaces will be accepted as videos recorded on mobile phones.

For more information see the Guidelines and FAQs page.

Cash prizes will be awarded to entrants from each age group: under 18s, 18-21, 21-28, 28-35 as well as vouchers and free courses from businesses across the Hunter.

For a full list of prizes click here.

Entries close 15 August, 2018.

Shortlisted entries will be announced 10 September, 2018 with the winners announced during the National Young Writers Festival 27-30 September, 2018.
