Short Story Writing with Ryan O'Neill
In this workshop, Ryan will discuss your writing routine, how to draft and when to rewrite your short story. Drawing on published examples he will engage you in exercises that strengthen your skills in this special area of writing.
Ryan O'Neill was born in Scotland, and lived and taught for several years in Lithuania, China and Rwanda before settling in Australia. His short stories have appeared in numerous journals and anthologies including The Best Australian Stories, The Sleepers Almanac, Meanjin, New Australian Stories and Westerly. His short story collections have twice been shortlisted for the Steele Rudd award, and his latest collection The Weight of a Human Heart was published in Australia, the US, and the UK. Ryan lived in Newcastle for a number of years before moving to a rural property near Gloucester, NSW. He works as a tutor and lecturer at the University of Newcastle.
